POSITION: Hands-On Events Coordinator
Born in Cincinnati, but raised in Northern Kentucky. I went away to Indiana University and received degrees in Finance and Business Economics & Public Policy. After moving home and finally settling in to a career at Great American Insurance, I also obtained my MBA from Xavier University. I have helped in a number of Give Back Events, and spent a couple years coaching youth football at my Alma Mater Covington Catholic.
What I do for GBC:
I lead Give Back Cincinnati’s Hands-On Operations. The Hands-On events are all about getting out there and involved in the different communities around our beautiful city. These events are not going to be the most glamorous work, as we generally spend a lot of time getting our hands dirty through the various projects we get involved. The greatest part is being able to see a project from start to finish and see the transformations take place!
First GBC Event:
The Giving Fields – 2015
Why I got involved with GBC:
After finishing up with Xavier, I found myself with a lot more time on my hands and the desire to get involved in the community. After looking into a number of different organizations, I came across Give Back Cincinnati and their message really resonated with me. The more I have gotten involved, the more great people I have met and worked with.
Why others should get involved:
There are so many good reasons to get involved – it is a great way to give your time towards helping communities in need, meeting so many different people with all kinds of backgrounds. It also exposes you to new environments and work that you did not know existed until you got involved. So give it a chance; you’ll never know where that one experience may lead.
I spent nearly two weeks in the ICU back in 2011 from a snowboarding accident – but no worse for the wear!! I still love snowboarding!
