Taste the Benefits of Drinking Local

We’re tapping into Greater Cincinnati’s unique beverage scene at our free Drink Local expo-style event at The Mockbee on 2260 Central Parkway this Saturday, July 29th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm

Over a dozen local small businesses will be featured including breweries, wineries, coffee shops, juice bars, dairies, and more.  You’ll wander through The Mockbee’s historic brewery tunnels while exploring a vibrant mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages made in Greater Cincinnati.  Guests will learn more about the benefits of drinking local by speaking with the featured businesses, sampling their drinks, and participating in a conversation with experts about the impact these businesses have on our community.

Brendon J. Cull

Brendon Cull is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. Prior to joining the Chamber, Cull was the Senior Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs at The Kroger Co.

From 2000-2005, Cull was the Legislative Director and Press Secretary for Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken. Cull is a member of the board of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority and the Mercantile Library.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Cull graduated in 1999 from Xavier University with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication. Cull lives in Clifton with his wife and daughter.

 

Daniel Noguera 

Born in 1977 of an Italian mother and Venezuelan father, Daniel Noguera grew up in the coffee-rich country of Venezuela. He moved to Cincinnati in 2001 for a textbook-publishing career and left the industry 13 years later, in 2014 after deciding to search for something more personally fulfilling.

In 2013 Noguera founded Urbana Café as a weekend project, combining two unique items, a utility motorcycle and a Naples style espresso machine. By the fall of 2014 Noguera decided to quit his publishing job to solely focus on Urbana Café, which had grown from a weekend project to a mobile coffee roasting business.

Noguera’s obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Tourism Administration in 1999 and an MBA in 2010. In recent years Noguera has dedicated his training in various areas of the coffee industry, such as coffee roasting and coffee brewing.

Urbana Café now operates a storefront in Pendleton, two mobile espresso bars, and a small roasting operation in Findlay Market. The company operates under the philosophy of “coffee with a purpose”, which translates to an involvement and support of local dog rescue organizations. Daniel Noguera, on the other hand, lives in Pleasant Ridge with his three dogs, Giacomo, Clover, and Diego Alejandro.
